Please save the date to join us and the all-volunteer, non-profit, Oregon Nordic Club, for our Summer Cabin Maintenance Work Party.
Volunteers needed to join us 9am – 4pm on July 15-16 2023. No need to RSVP for this event, just show up and bring some friends!

As most of you know, there is ongoing annual maintenance to keep these cabins open and ready for the next high use Winter season. This year we are replacing the roof of the Tilly Jane Guard Station.

How you can help:
No special skills are needed, just a willingness to come out and help us remove the old roof. All volunteers will earn a free weekend stay at the A-Frame on a winter club/volunteer weekend.

When: July 15-16
Time: 9am-4pm
Where: Meet at the Tilly Jane Guard Station. The road will be open up to the campground for parking
Bring: work gloves, sturdy work boots, hard hat/bike helmet, eye protection, chain saws, appropriate clothing based on the weather forecast, water, lunch, and any camping gear you may need if you plan to spend the night.
Note: The campground will be open for free overnight camping Friday and Saturday night. Cabins are not available for overnight stay.

What we will be working on:

• Removing the roof of the Guard Station
• Adding temporary tarps to cover the roof
• Removing the old roof debris from the area
• Bucking firewood and clearing debris near the cabins and campground areas – bring your chainsaws
• Cleaning the A Frame
• Other tasks as needed

Both cabins will be closed to public rentals during this weekend to allow us access for cleaning and maintenance.
