At our January General Club Meeting Edgar Hee will share images and stories of Edgar and Karen’s Masters World Cup 2019 Beitostolen Norway ski adventure. Beiterstolen is a small village at the southern gateway to Norway’s Jotunheimen (home of the giants) Mountains. The village hosts World Cup races and in March 2019 hosted the Masters World Cup ski races.
Many consider Norway the “cradle of skiing”. And when one says skiing in Norway, the presumption is Nordic as is cross country skiing. The village of Beiterstolen is home to some 400 year round residents, but is host to thousands of winter (and summer) visitors.
Nordic ski tracks start literally at the back of our hotel and alpine lifts load just across the street. The MWC race course tracks are just a small part of the some 300 + km of cross country ski trails running through and surrounding the village. And there is more to just skiing.
Plan to attend for the interesting talk, ski friends, refreshments and more!
