Ozbaldy 50k XC Ski Race
The 16th annual Ozbaldy 50k XC Ski Race on Sunday, March 6, 2016, is western Washington’s only XC ski marathon. This year we are also offering a 10k distance for Juniors, in coordination with Momentum Northwest. The Ozbaldy 50k is the last of three Kongsberger Ski Club cross country ski races this winter.
Distances – 50k freestyle (skate or classic) technique race, open to Senior and Master skiers (20 years and older)
10k freestyle (skate or classic) technique race, open to Junior skiers (19 years and younger)
Start Time – 50k – mass start at 9:00 AM, 10k – mass start at 9:10 AM
Race cut-off times may be imposed, check on race day. Late finishing racers will be able to self-report their finish time for inclusion in race results.
First timer? – Challenge yourself and come out and try 50k. If you don’t reach the full 50k, your results will be posted as to what you finished.
Location – North side of interchange at Cabin Creek Sno-Park, exit #63 on I-90, 10 miles east of Snoqualmie Pass. Sno-Park permit and Washington State Grooming Sticker required to park. 1-day permits for purchase online. Racers may use the Kongsberger club cabin and waxing shed on race days.
Race Course – Course is on Kongsberger trail system (trail map) on US Forest Service land, north side of I-90. 50k race is five laps. Course generally follows the Road & Berg-Viking-Boundary loop trails. Check race course map in cabin on race day.
Cost – 50k: Masters & Seniors: Early Registration: $30, Race Day Registration: $40
10k: Juniors: Early & Day of Race Registration: $15
Early registration pricing valid until midnight Friday, March 4.
Registration – Online registration opens in mid February and closes midnight Friday, March 4.

Day of Race registration from 7:30 to 8:30 AM in basement of Kongsberger cabin. Full price applies. Credit cards not accepted on race day. No refunds. This is an mass start race with several waves, and racers indicate their preferred seeding (faster, medium, slower) at time of registration.
