Greetings from the Cabin,
Please save the date to join us and the all-volunteer, non-profit, Oregon Nordic Club, for our Summer Cabin Maintenance Work Party. As most of you know, there is ongoing annual maintenance to keep these cabins open and ready for the next high use Winter season. And we are pleased to be partnering with the Mt Hood Forest Service to rehabilitate the TJ Amphitheater!

How you can help:
No special skills are needed, just a willingness to come out and help. All volunteers will earn a free weekend stay at the A-Frame on a winter club/volunteer weekend. While the bulk of the work will be outside, please bring your masks for any interior projects.

When: July 9, No RSVP needed
When: July 18-22, and July 25-29 4 volunteers/day, RSVP at onc-pdx.org/events
Time: 9am-4pm
Where: Meet at the Tilly Jane Guard Station. The road will be open up to the campground for parking
Bring: work gloves, sturdy work boots, hard hat/bike helmet, eye protection, chain saws, appropriate clothing based on the weather forecast, water, lunch, and any camping gear you may need if you plan to spend the night.
Note: The campground will be open for free overnight camping Friday and Saturday night. Cabins are not available for overnight stay.

What we will be working on:
Tilly Jane Amphitheater preparation.
Cutting, de-barking, and positioning of logs to rebuild the Amphitheater later this month.
Bucking firewood and clearing debris near the cabins – bring your chainsaws
Other tasks as needed

Updates: COVID-19
The A-Frame and Guard Station have remained open for overnight rentals with reduced reservation capacities and pricing. Please note when inquiring on Recreeation.Gov, the reservation rules have been updated and are subject to change based on COVID-19, CDC guidelines, and Gov. Kate Brown’s opening requirements/updates.
