In the mountains of Southern Oregon, where the Siskiyous meet the Cascades, we enjoy Nordic skiing of all types:  classic, skating, backcountry and Telemark.  Whether you are looking for track groomed trails, Bureau of Land Management/BLM & US Forest Service/USFS roads, or untracked backcountry powder, they can all be found here sometime during our ~November-April season.  If you want to meet ski friends, learn more about Nordic skiing in our area, and support an organization that promotes outdoor activity, consider joining the Southern Oregon Chapter of the Oregon Nordic Club.

In anticipation of the coming ski season, several members have walked our favorite trails to clear debris & downed trees and checked on blue diamond markers.

We will try to lead small group ski outings as conditions allow.  Our monthly general club meetings will be held in person this season–dates and location will be posted on the calendar.  We are hoping that members can connect with ski friends using the membership roster, and SONC Facebook & Meet Up pages.  Check out our FAQs.

Membership is open to everyone.  Annual membership dues for single members and for families for the 2023-24 season are $20 for all members (new and returning), which includes the required fees to ONC Oregon Nordic Club.

If you would like to donate to the grooming fund, become a new member, or renew your membership, please click the SONC membership form link below.

In partnership with the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), SONC volunteers use a tracked Polaris ATV to pull a YTS tracksetter and trail reconditioner to groom Hyatt Lake/Buck Prairie Nordic System trails.
